Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people 65 years of age or older. It pays for much of your health care, but not all of it, such costs could be, prescription drugs, deductibles, coinsurance.

Medicare Supplements are a health insurance policy sold by private heath insurance companies to fill the “gaps” in Medicare coverage. For more information or to get a quote, fill out our online Medicare quote form (see below).

 Currently, we represent 6 Medicare organizations which offer 40 products in our area. You can always contact medicare.gov, 1-800-medicare or your local State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) for help with plan choices.

Medicare Part A

Also known as hospital insurance Medicare Part A is a basic insurance plan that covers medical services related to inpatient hospitalization and skilled nursing care. It is offered at low or no cost to Americans who are 65 years old and have contributed toward Social Security, as well as other qualified individuals.

Medicare Part B

Medicare Part B is an insurance plan that covers medical services related to outpatient and doctor care. Part B covers medically necessary care and treatment such as preventive services, ambulance, and mental health.

Medicare Part C

Medicare Part C, also called Medicare Advantage, includes the coverage benefits of Medicare Parts A and B. In Addition, Medicare Part C plans offer additional coverage like vision and dental.

Medicare Part D

Medicare Part D plans offer coverage for prescription drugs. The prescriptions covered depend on the plan you select so it is important that you talk with a benefits specialist to find a plan that meets your needs.

Medicare Part A is inpatient and hospital insurance. Part A coverage applies to:

  • Inpatient hospital care

  • Skilled nursing facility care

  • Hospice care

  • Some home health care

Medicare Part B is outpatient medical insurance. Part B coverage applies to:

  • Services from doctor

  • Outpatient care

  • Durable medical equipment

  • Preventative services

  • Some home health care

Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage) is privately managed, federally approved Medicare plans. Part C plans combine the benefits of Part A and B into one plan and may also include:

  • Prescription drug coverage

  • Additional benefits

Medicare Part D plans provide beneficiaries with privately managed, federally approved prescription drug coverage. Medicare Part A and B don’t offer prescription drug coverage, so Part D helps:

  • Manage prescription drug costs

  • Provide lower cost-sharing for in-network and preferred pharmacies
